Logging in to MSN Messenger the other night, I was confronted with this pop up spam:
I love the lack of quality control. The system has scanned the article, recognised the word pirate, and chosen an archived picture.
The diplomatic difficulties of Sudanese pirates violently attacking foreign vessels in international waters… portrayed through the art of puppetry.
If it was a TV series I’d watch it.

Hah, If you like puppet shows, look up a musical called ‘Avenue Q’. It’s great.
I’m not sure how else I might contact you, so I thought I’d comment here. I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Amie, from 2005…
I thought I would look for my old France blog after a flash of memory, but it appears to be gone, but that might just be my awful internet connection.
I can’t say it’s demise bothers me overly much, I remember going back and reading it when I was 17, and what had been comedy gold at the time just wasn’t funny anymore…
Sorry I let it go downhill, anyway. This blog is pretty good.
Anyway, I’m rambling
How’s things with the website these days? Is Bruce still around?
Your section of the webspace spent so long in isolation that it acheived sentience. Freshly awoken and with the curiosity of a newborn, it gazed into the open maw of the internet itself.
There it saw Madness.
Enraged and insane, it began to devour the internet, starting with this site. In an epic battle of strength, guile and cunning, we managed to halt its rampage, and obliterate it forever. It lives on in our hearts, not the nightmarish monster it became, but the amusing travel blog it once was. Such horror hath man wrought.
Bruce was driven insane in the battle. We try to keep him comfortable, in his cage in the bowels of olilolo Tower. strangely, his IT skills were undiminished by his descent into lunacy. We don’t get too close to the cage, though.
To our more recent readers, Amie used to write a travel blog on olilolo from France.
I’ve bad news. I think your previous blog may be gone forever. The software that ran it was out of date I think it was letting hackers into the rest (naughty) :-S I’m not sure though. It could just be suspended deep within our server.
Bruce is still around.
There is one way you can check out your old site though. There’s a university that actually copies the internet. So you can search it for old webpages and I found yours. Go to this address: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://amie.olilolo.com
It has three records of your site from 2006. I think they represent the whole site. It hasn’t copied the formatting very well, but at least the text is all that. You’ll understand what I mean when you click on one of them.
I found some of your stuff quite funny myself. Especially Paul. I was disappointed when you stopped writing. I creid. Wept for days while grasping a bottle of french red wine. Wiping away my tears with bagettes.
Well, hope life is treating you well and come visit olilolo again sometime
(I’ve also emailed this to you)
I like my story better.
Discostu has my vote, how awesome would an olilolo tower be?
Where do you think we’re writing these comments from?
